What to ask before your child enrols
If your son or daughter is considering a cruise career, you deserve straight answers about cost, safety, process and who signs what. Here are the questions — and the answers we are prepared to give in writing.
Questions parents ask us
Is V Cruise Ships a job-guarantee agency?
No. We are a training institute. We train, screen in-house, and support placement. Course completion does not by itself guarantee cruise-line employment.
How do we know the fees are genuine?
Ask for the fee structure in writing before you pay anything. We give fees, duration and exactly what placement support includes on paper. Any institute that will not put it in writing is telling you something.
Can we visit the institute before enrolling?
Yes — come and see the kitchens, service rooms and where training actually happens. We invite it.
Who will our child work for, and what will they sign?
If hired, the employment contract is signed with the cruise line, not with us. You see their name, the wage and the contract length before signing.
What happens on board?
Shipboard contracts typically run 6–9 months with accommodation and meals provided on board. Life at sea is demanding — we train for the reality, not the brochure.
What if our child is not ready at the screening?
They hear it from us first, and we keep training them. We do not put unready candidates in front of a panel.
Red flags in this industry
These are the patterns that should make any family walk away.
No institute can guarantee cruise-line employment. A promise of a guaranteed job is a warning sign.
Legitimate institutes put terms in writing and let you decide. Pressure tactics are a red flag.
If there is nowhere to visit, there may be nothing to visit.
If the employment contract is not with the cruise line, ask why.
